The Face of Fashion4Africa 2012 took place in the smiling coast of West Africa known as The Gambia. Beauty in Business event and pr management delivered their mentoring, training and development project Fashion4africa in Africa in The Gambia Saturday on the 22nd December 2012 at the 5* luxury Kairaba Beach Hotel in the Senegambia.
The Creative Director Ms Anna Njie said she could not think of a better country in Africa to host its debut with The Gambia being only six hours flight from London, guaranteed sunshine, picturesque locations and a friendly welcoming nation that inhabits a very laid back environment. The show will be produced by none other than Mr Sola Oyebade of Mahogany International, a long term colleague of the creative director who has himself visited Gambia and hosted his very own Top Model of Colour show there in 2008. The show superceeded the event held in London UK in 2010 as it is brought to the motherland AFRICA celebrating a wealth of culture, tradition and a rich history.
The exciting project helped all 23 contestants who were given full catwalk training. grooming sessions, How to pose for the camera workshops, make up and hair styling, and fun training days away.
The lucky winner Ibrahima Ceesay of the male category has a signed contract to play an ambassadorial role as a representative of African beauty throughout Africa and beyond. He walked away with a photoshoot with Fashion and beauty photographer Karl lake reknown for working with 50 Cents and music mogul Damon Dash, a one year cover boy/girl with Beauty In Business, entry to Top Model of Colour London 2013, and the opportunity to catwalk at London Fashion week 2013 by Fashion Finest.
The event was possible by the generous support of AFRICELL, The Gambia Experience, Mahogany International, Set Photography and the Kairaba Beach hotel.
